The Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) is contributing to the Australian and Queensland Government Coronavirus (COVID-19) response.
Health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders is a priority, especially for Elders and those with existing medical conditions.
Like most workplaces across Australia, DATSIP YEP staff are working from home to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
This means there are some changes to the way DATSIP delivers its Youth Employment Program (YEP), including to provide more ‘virtual’ or ‘online’ assistance.
YEP staff remain committed to providing candidates with every opportunity to secure employment, training or further education. You can still contact YEP officers through phone, email and video calls.
If your job has been affected by COVID-19 or you know someone experiencing work impacts, please visit the COVID-19 jobs hub at the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
You can learn more about COVID-19 — including accessing health and support information — on the DATSIP coronavirus page.
If you develop symptoms including a fever, a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath contact your local doctor or health service, or call 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
The Youth Employment Program (YEP) is an employment support program for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are finishing high school and looking for work or considering further education.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a Certificate III or higher, who are not supported by a job agency, can also be supported through YEP.
