Katlin Peterson

Katlin Peterson was born in Queensland, her people are from the Northern Rivers of New South Wales but she has resided in Oakey for the majority of her life.

Katlin's goalkeeping skills have seen her achieve selection in various representative teams for Futsal and Soccer. Katlin was selected to represent Australia at the 2012 Futsal National Championships in Sydney, 2011 Schools Futsal Cup in North Wales and the 2012 Vikings Under 16's Australian Futsal in Brazil. In 2011 she played for the South West Queensland Juniors Premier League team and the Darling Downs under 19's team in soccer. These are some of many of the achievements Katlin has accomplished in her sporting career.

In the future Katlin would like to play soccer for the Matildas and represent Australia.

She is also a member of the T.S. Toowoomba Naval Cadet Unit.

"My passion is soccer, but I would also like to be in the Navy."

Katlin's other interests are being heavily involved in many cultural groups at her school and in the community.

Katlin is proud of her Aboriginal culture and she enjoys dancing with Kooma Didge Indigenous Dance Troupe. She had the privilege to dance with Nunukul Yuggera at the 2009 Oakey NAIDOC Celebrations.

Katlin enjoys being a role model to young Indigenous people in her school and community.

"Keep following your dreams, never give up, be proud of who you are and anything is possible", says Katlin.
