Theresa Morgan

My name is Theresa Morgan, I grew up in Camooweal and Collinsville and I currently live in Mackay Qld.

This year I was elected by my community as Councillor on the Mackay Regional Council. I have a passion for social justice and believe in fair representation for everyone in our community.

I became a Registered Nurse in 1988, a Midwife in 1990 and have worked in the public health system for 27 years. I have a particular interest in primary health and education and have enjoyed my many years of caring for people and their families. During the last few years I have developed an interest in childhood education and I am currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning. Quality education for our youth is their opportunity for success.

I have been very lucky to grow up within a supportive family and I would say my mother is my greatest role model as she instilled in me the importance of a strong family bond. My husband Des and I have one daughter.

I hope my story will encourage others to follow their dreams and to believe that you really can make a difference.
