Elliot Summers

At such a young age, Elliot Summers is already well on his way to realising his life's dream.

The 18 year old said his father inspired him to pursue a career as a mechanic, which he is now on the cusp of achieving.

"I just wanted to walk in his footsteps," Elliot said.

Elliot's passion for fixing cars has led him to his apprenticeship training at Tec-NQ where he is not only learning more about the automotive trade and about working in the industry, but he's also finishing his Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

Apart from his reputation as a dedicated and attentive student, Elliot is also the recipient of the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation scholarship.

After his graduation from Tec-NQ at the end of 2011, Elliot has been accepted into the Australian Defence Force where he will complete his trade training to become a qualified mechanic.

He hopes to pursue a career in engineering in the future.
