Northern Strategies Pty Ltd

Northern Strategies Pty Ltd (NS) is a Cairns based company founded in 2010 by Paul Walker, General Manager in partnership with Samantha Dingwall, Managing Director.

Paul's concept for development of the company's training and employment services was established to address the need for improved VET engagement, delivery and completion rates, including employment support and sustainability for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

Prior to the last several years in the training and employment services industry, Paul's background has predominantly been with the Australian Defence Force - Army, Police and the Customs and Border Protection Services.

Paul is a descendant of the Waanyi people in the Gulf of Carpentaria, born and raised in North West Queensland.

Samantha has a background in senior financial management roles, including several years of complimented Native Title experience.

Samantha is a Bidjara woman, born and raised in North Queensland.

Both Paul and Sam have since grown the company over the past year and continue to enhance their services and professional development as qualified trainers, specialising in:

  • Mentoring and Tutoring support
  • Program development and implementation
  • Project management and coordination
  • Indigenous and Remote Consultancy

NS is the first Cairns based certified supplier business to the Australian Indigenous Minority Suppliers Council (AIMSC) as a 100% Aboriginal owned and managed enterprise. They are also partners of the ADVANCE Cairns' Business Enterprise Centre and Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE.
