Indigenous Business Month

The Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) supports Indigenous Business Month. It’s an opportunity to shine a light on the growing ranks of successful Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across Queensland.

This year’s theme is Invigorate, Build, Maintain: Keeping Our Sector Strong. It’s a practical call to action, acknowledging that businesses across all sectors have experienced challenging times in 2020, and that we all have a role to play in keeping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses strong.

There are a number of activities as part of the month, including: ‘Ask The Buyer’ and ‘Ask The Supplier’ webinars and regional activities such as Market stalls in Mount Isa and Townsville has a business continuity plan workshop along with the ‘Blak Business Blitz’ promotion of local businesses in partnership with radio station 4K1G.

You can also engage the Indigenous business sector through virtual Black Coffee meet ups in Mackay, Bowen and Townsville, and the SOLID Business Expo in Mackay.
